JadeBay Chemical Industry Cluster

Major international players have been established in and around the JadeBay for decades. Today their products ranging from zinc alloys through plastics to pigments, are exported all around the world. Our location on the coast and our good transport links to European industrial centres gives us a strategic advantage over other possible sites.

INEOS ChlorVinyls and INEOS Chlor Atlantik (www.ineoschlor.com) have factories directly on the coast making VCM, PVC, chlorine and caustic soda. Raw materials come directly by ship.

There are also a number of international chemicals companies with plants in the Wesermarsch. The German-American company Kronos International makes titanium dioxide pigments in Nordenham. Also in Nordenham XStrata Zink GmbH produces more than 140,000 tons of zinc and zinc alloys for the steel industry every year. And right at the mouth of the Weser river, Weser Metall GmbH has been making lead – an important use at present is in car batteries.

CoastSite Wilhelmshaven is an industry initiative in collaboration with the City of Wilhelmshaven, founded to promote Wilhelmshaven as a location for chemicals and high-tech firms.

CoastSite Wilhelmshaven is also listed in the Germany Trade & Invest(GTAI) directory of chemical and industrial locations. Investors can find out about sites currently available via this directory.

Germany Trade & Invest  is the federal business development agency. Its role is to promote Germany to outside investors all around the world, and is an information resource for German companies looking to invest abroad.
