Maritime diversity in the vicinity of three ports
Extremely positive developments are expected in the maritime economy, which already constitutes one of the outstanding growth markets. As an international hub and transhipment centre for all kinds of goods and also the location of many major companies in the production, trade and service sectors, the JadeBay Region will naturally benefit from these developments. Construction is, therefore, taking place in Wilhelmshaven on the JadeWeserPort, which is currently not only Germany's sole deep-water container port, but also the most easterly of all deep-water ports on Europe's "North-Range“. The Weser seaports of Nordenham and Brake are connected to the network of European inland waterways and fulfil all of the requirements for transhipping non-containerisable goods, such as project loads. Brake has already become Europe's most modern transhipment centre for agricultural products.

In the JadeBay, large parts of the industry are also strongly influenced by this regional maritime orientation. The maritime economy in our JadeBay Region comprises, in particular, cutting-edge businesses in the production and manual-trade sectors, as well as traditional shipbuilding, which covers a wide range of vessels from rescue and special-function ships to mega yachts and naval ships. Whether businesses belong to the chemical industry, or produce submarine cables, wind-power stations or even zinc and lead, they can access their customers throughout the world from here.
Not only the increasing globalisation of economic and trade relations, but also the growing significance of the off-shore industry will give a further economic boost to the JadeBay Region.
