Interview with Tom Nietiedt, Managing Partner of the Nietiedt Group

Mr. Nietiedt, your company operates way beyond the boundaries of the immediate catchment area. Might we ask how far your acquisition radius stretches and what you do for your customers?
In addition to Wilhelmshaven we have seven other locations in Germany at the moment and an office in Portugal. From Hamburg, Lingen and Magdeburg to Aschaffenburg. Although Wilhelmshaven is our home base we feel at home in the whole of Europe. We work in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Scandinavia or Austria – wherever our customers want us to. We build scaffolding for buildings of any kind; corrosion protection is one of our strengths – especially in the area of industrial plants and power stations. We are also particularly innovative when it comes to concrete protection, but also in terms of painting and in the field of energetic renovation of buildings. A broad and very future-oriented range, as you can see.
Do you have any other international plans?
As I already said, we work all over the world on projects – we go where our customers take us.
What do you expect for your company in the JadeBay region – assuming the economic circumstances are favourable?
The logistics zone, maritime industry and port-related services will be located in the immediate vicinity of the port. Behind this we expect there to be a more varied form of industrial settlement in the next generation. The JadeBay region will become a true growth region. We’ll have a lot to do for a long time.
So, does a medium-sized business stand a good chance in our region as regards future development?
Absolutely! We view the new port and its industrial surroundings as a great opportunity and worthwhile challenge.
Mr. Nietiedt, thank you for the discussion.
