The JadeBay Region economic location – an exemplary coexistence of industry and tourism
Multi-billion investment projects already indicate the direction our region will take in future. Development of the economy and of this location is revealing strong potential, particularly in the port-associated industries and maritime economy sectors, and also in the areas of basic chemicals, petrochemicals and energy management.
This ideal portside industrial location provides the best possible conditions for profitable, high-output production activity both in and for the European single market, as well as for subsequent transhipment to other countries.
In Europe as abroad, the JadeBay Region is becoming an investment hotspot and developing into an internationally significant hub for logistics and energy. The existing structures provide the ideal basis to complement the maritime cluster. Wilhelmshaven, the regional centre of the JadeBay Region, is regarded as the prime to establish new industries. Here, the economic landscape is characterised by industry and Germany's major oil transhipment port, together with a wide variety of service enterprises (in particular in the IT sector), trade and commerce. Innovative businesses in the manual and production sectors have been established along the River Weser. Companies from the aerospace industry are also located in the JadeBay Region, as are logisticians, seaport transhipment companies, shipyards and traditional firms in the manual sector. What's more, the region boasts outstanding competence in its logistics sector.
Carried out primarily in the form of grassland farming (dairy and cattle farming), agriculture too is one of the key branches of the regional economy. The North Sea, good air and abundant nature also make tourism a major factor both for the economy and this location. This exemplary coexistence of industry, leisure activities and tourism is characteristic of our region.
