Visitor: Hendrik von Paepcke, Managing Director of APOPROJEKT GmbH & Co. KG

Hendrik von Paepcke is the Managing Director of the Hamburg company APOPROJEKT GmbH & Co. KG, responsible for commercial tenant build-out, i.e. the interior outfitting of commercial properties. He spent a day with Mr. Breitzke in the JadeBay region and got a picture of our budding growth region.

We asked him what he thought of our region, what impression he had of the current economic developments and what emotional associations with our region he would take with him.

Mr. von Paepcke, you visited the JadeBay region – what surprised you about our region?

My subjective perception of the JadeBay region had so far been that of a very "attractive touristic hinterland". However, the clichéd "sheep on the dike" is now only leading a rudimentary niche existence. It is amazing how the various sectors of tourism, logistics, industry and energy harmonize with one another and represent a new diversity that makes the region considerably more attractive not only for tourism, but also for the resident population and young people.

Which impressions were the most important for you?

Three projects worth billions – the coal-fired power station, the caverns and JadeWeserPort – are today being realized in close proximity. In addition to the energy sector and tourism, JadeWeserPort represents one of the most exciting logistics projects in Europe. There seems to be no stopping the drive in the region. The groundbreaking development over the entire region in the coming years will be watched with great anticipation.

Will you stay in touch with the JadeBay region?

Of course. Our company, APOprojekt, is engaged in the interior outfitting of commercial properties for professional, largely institutional property investors. We offer them a very attractive service by guaranteeing a fixed price. I am convinced that an increasing number of investors – who in the end are our customers – will discover the JadeBay region for themselves. I hope that we will be on board by then at the latest and be able to benefit from the drive.
